About:Entry Regulations of China

Hi! I going to travel to Beijing. And I was planning to take an engagement ring for my girlfriend.
Should I declare it. And whether it is necessary to me to pay the duty at import of values?

Generally, no problem to bring in without declaration and no duty. Just leisurely put it in handbag. Better not make it like a well wrapped gift. Wear it or just put the ring in handbag. This is the experience from others.
