From Mongkok to Peak, you may take MTR and alight at Admiralty Station, then change to Bus 15 to the Peak. You may also alight at the Central Station and take cable to the peak. From peak to Avenue of Stars, take bus no.15 to the Admiralty MTR station, then take MTR to MTR Tsim Sha Tsui Station, then walk to Avenue of Stars. The night view from the peak is beautiful.
