About:China Customs Declaration

Could you please let me know if the 20K CNY/$5K cap is per person or per family? Same question on the 2K CNY gift rule. Thank you!

It is per person, not per family. No more than 2000CNY gift (except the stuff for you own rules but will left in China after your departure) or you have to pay tax. The rule is not so strict that the amount should be exact 2000, but around.
