About:China Customs Declaration

We are going back to China in October, and have bought quite a bit of gifts for relatives and friends. People there want us to bring them Coach bags and other brand name items, which are not necessarily cheap. We just heard about the 2,000 RMB cap for custom declaration. Is this 2K requirment for each gift we bring or in total? I would hate to pay more taxes on these already fairly expensive gifts...

Sometime they take your products away for no reason and not reurn them. I always ask them to return to me so i can send them back home to Australia. Most times they just give them back to me and wave me through.
Medication is a strong point make sure any medication you have a letter from your doctor or a current prescription.
