About:China Train

I want to travel on a train in a soft sleeper with my 1 year old child (18 months) from Shanghai to Beijing. I was told that I WOULD NOT have to buy a ticket for the child. Is that correct?

Thanks.

Yes, according to China railway administration, one adult can take one child under 1.1 meters tall for free provided he/she does not take an extra sleeper.
