About:Beijing South Railway Station

Hi, We would be travelling from Shanghai to Beijing by preferably overnight train.
Questions:
1) Is the overnight train journey safe? Also, is it cheaper than flight?
2) To visit the Great wall, should we opt for Beijing South station or Beijing West or any other?
3) Is one day sufficient for touring the Great Wall, Forbidden City and other tourist spot in Beijing? Or should we plan 2 day visit?
Please advise.

1. It is safe and it is cheaper than flight.
2. You'd better opt for Beijing South Station and then take bus Waihuan-800 to Deshengmen. Then take bus 919 to the Great Wall.
3. I think one day is short. If you want to have a view of Beijing, you'd better pay more days to visit Beijing.
