Hello, we will be traveling to Fenghuang from Zhangjiajie in a couple of weeks and we have read it is going to be very busy because of the National Day holiday.  Does anyone know if we will have any problems getting the bus from Zhangjiajie to Fenghuang?  Can the tickets be purchased a few days in advance?  Otherwise, Is it possible to hire a taxi or private car to Fenghuang from Zhangjiajie and vice versa a few days later?  Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated!

The ticket can  be purchased in advance, but I am afraid one day in advance usually. For details, you have to inquiry at the bus station when you just get to Zhangjiajie. If you can not get the direct bus, you can also take the bus to Jishou first. Then go to Fenghuang. Buses to Jishou are much more and easy to find. Possible to hire a car or taxi, but it is too expensive, about 1000RMB or more from Zhangjiajie to Fenghuang, perhaps cheaper back from Fenghuang. Trains are also available to Jishou first. So, choose bus or train.
