About:Nanping Travel

What dialect did Nanping people speak hokkian or foochow? I would like to know exactly my ancesstor is hokkian or foochow.

Their language is a local dialect, seems neither Hokkian nor Foochow. It is different from the two languages.

Nicholas Bodmann in his book "Spoken Amoy Hokkien" identifies the Local Dialect as a Mandarin Dialect. Not having samples of it, I cannot verify this. If it is, it would be a southeastern Mandarin dialect, the most diverse group of subdialects Mandarin has.
