hi we are hoping to go to see the giant buddahthen to climb emei shan over 2/3 days

Hi we are hoping to go to see the Giant Buddah and then to climb Emei Shan over 2/3 days from Ya'an City - please can you advise us on the best way to get to these places from Ya'an (bus numbers and times if you have them would be great)? We would ideally like to see the Buddah in the morning and then head straight to Emei Shan and stay in one of the monastaries and carry on up in the morning - is that possible?Also how much does it cost to stay in the monastaries on Emei Shan? Also do you know the prices for food? and are drinks easy to purchase up there?Apologies for all of the questions and thank you in advance, Gill :)

Food and drinks are easy to found in Emeishan. Ya'an is closer to Emeishan, so you can get to Emeishan first. Ya'an Ximen Coach Station (Ximen Beilu) have buses to Emeishan at around 08:15、09:45、12:00、14:10, arring in Emeishan 2 hours later. Then you have to take taxi to the mountain foot. Possible to complet the two places in two days. Half a day is enough in Leshan Big Buddha.

To stay in the monasteries uo Emeishan, it costs 30-200RMB per person, according to the living condition. Most room in those temple are without its own washroom. Only a few luxury rooms have. There is a bus back to Ya'an from leshan every 1-1.5 hours, it seems the last bus at 2:30pm. Emeishan has 4-5 buses a day to Ya'an and the last bus at 2:10pm.

Dear Miss Gill, I googled but found no timetable from Leshan to Emeishan. Maybe you can ask when you will be there. You can take the bus at Leshan Passenger Transportation Center(乐山客运中心）, Xiaoba Tourist Center（肖坝旅游车站） or just at the Lesha Giant Buddha site （some tour agencies offer the service of sending passengers to Emeishan). If you will be unable to catch the bus, the private car ride between them takes about rmb120.
