About:Chinese Embassy in Canada

I will be stopping in Beijing for 11.5 hours in October and was wondering if I need a visa to exit the airport for a few hours. I will be connecting again in Xiamen so I am just wondering the best possible strategy if I can leave so Im not stuck in the airport for so long.
Thank you!!

You need a China tourist visa for the stopover in Beijing and the transit in Xiamen.
