Take bus 980 at Dongzhimen to Miyuan Bus Station, the last stop. The bus fare is 10RMB (RMB17 for 980快). The local mini bus to Jianshanling is no more than 15RMB, another one hour's drive. There are many cars and taxis waiting in Miyun Bus Station. If you hire a van to Jinshanling, paying 150RMB. It allows 4-7 people. So, good idea to share one car with other visitors.

Just got back from minyun today.   absolutely no luck finding any local buses going to jinshanling.  Only private rentals which cost 100rmb each way.  Pretty much no one speaks any english, and the locals look to the private rental drivers before answering questions about local buses.  I had the feeling that there are local buses, but the locals want to support the drivers and won't tell you about them if you are white.
