Many countries in ancient time used shell as the currency but it is not the common kind. In China, shells as currency happend in Shang Dynasty. People love in deoth mainland, far away from the ocean. They were not easy to found. Also, they are firm, endurable, sleek, clean, beautiful and easy to bring with, so, they chose them as currency.
