About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

I know this web sight is not a marriage advisory agency, but how my future wife and I get married according to procedure does effect my change in visa as far as length of stay. My fiancee's original residence is Wuzhou, but she lives with her niece in Shenzhen until we marry. Can we be married in Shenzhen or must we go to Wuzhou to be married? I also need my single status marriageability affidavit to be interpreted into Chinese. I think according to procedure, someone has to interpret the marriage procedure for me. Does every Civil Affairs agency provide this service? Can I find an agency to facilitate that service, or should I contact U.S. embassey in Guangzhou for advice and procedure? I hope you can assist us so my length of my visa will allow us to be together longer. We thank all of you for your wonderful support.

You need to make your marriage registration in Wuzhou where she registered her Hukou. Your single status affidavit should be first certified by the Secretary of the State Office of the state where the document is executed. And then certified by the relevant Chinese Consulate General. You can ask if the Chinese embassy or consulate can interpret it into Chinese.

Here is a good news for you, after you get married, you are qualified to apply for a residence permit valid for one year and the permit can be extended when it expires.
