Dear Mr Jim,i am planning to go to china as a tourist which will require an L-visa.however, perhaps i would like to study overthere. therefore, is it possible to convert my visa from L-visa to X-visa. i know an institution which can provide this. but i need to double check first.thankyoubestregards

If your school/university/college is very helful, you can change your L visa into X visa, otherwise, you will be asked to exit China to get a X visa.
