Ms. Rosalind,
Nanjing road is a short 10-15 min taxi ride from your hotel...you really do need to experience the great shopping & restaurants along Nanjing. If this is your first trip to Shanghai you won't be dissapointed! Let me know if you need more info.

Hi Eric and thanks for the info. Yes it will be my first time to China. I want to know everything, as much as you are willing to share. I want to shop for sure...I'm doing christmas shopping while there, so fake stuff will be okay for friends and family..hahaha. Where is the best place to go. I also want to buy a nice camera. I was going to buy one in the states but figure I would get a better deal in China. What do you think?

Rosalind,
The shopping in Shanghai in my opinion covers the range from very inexpensive fakes...to over the top high end designer brands at higher than US prices. I would caution against buying the knock off electronics, they've simply not worked and I end up throwing them away! I personally wouldn't buy a fake camera...a legit one might be worth considering. Other stuff like watches, some clothes, and sports goods are actually fine and very inexpensive. I'll try to find the address of a good shopping area I've been to...I travel to Shanghai quite a bit on business and have been to countless markets, some better than others.
