Is it possible or would it be feasible to drive from Xian To the 3 Gorges Dam? Is it worth seeing?

It's about 800 kilometers from Xian to 3 Georges Dam and it takes about 10 hours if go there by car. I don't know if you'll like the dam or not, but the cruise on the river is definitely a must to me.
