About:Harbin Ice Festival

Hello
Can anyone please advise when is the official opening date (with fireworks displays) of the Harbin Ice and Snow Festival 2011? The Harbin Government website state as 24 December 2010 but some travel companies websites state as January 5 2011. I can only travel in December so if the sculptures are not ready, then I will not make the trip. Anyone please advise. Thank you in advance.

Usually you can se go to see the snow and ice sculptures since late December but the formal/official opening ceremony is on Jan 5.

Thank you for the information Mr Clark. Since the official opening is on 5 Jan 2011, I will not make the trip as my intended arrival date is 14 days before that, so all the sculptures may not ready by then. Never mind, maybe another year when the timing is right.

Generally speaking, some ice sculptures will be fine but not all of them. Maybe we can see how it's going at that time.
