About:Datong Attractions

I am planning to do a side trip to Datong while in Beijing in Oct 2010. I read somewhere that the sights may be undergoing renovation and closed to tourists. Are any of the sights (especially Yungang Grottos, Hanging Monastery) going to be closed?

The old building and city wall inside the city is undergoing renovation now and no problem for visiting Yungang Grottoes and Hanging Monastery. You can have your side trip there.
