About:Getting to Dunhuang

We are supposed to take the train from Urumqi to Liuyan on 3 November - and then taxi to Dunhuang... can we go directly to Dunhuang Railway station from Urumqi instead?

Also departing from Dunhuang to Shanghai by train - is there a direct train or do we have to go to Liuyan to get the train? Thank you.

Yes, the train K725/K726 could take you to Dunhuang Railway Station from Urumqi directly. But there is no direct train from Dunhuang to Shanghai. For instead, you should to to Liuyuan Railway Station,which has two trains to Shanghai everyday, respectively taking 35 and 57 hours.
