About:Chinese Embassy in Saudi Arabia

Dear fellows,

I am facing a confusion regarding my Hong Kong visit visa.

My Hong Kong visa validity is 7 days. The travel agent has made my ticket reservation as following:

Arrival in Hong Kong: 20th September.
Departure from Hong Kong: 27th September.

If I count both of these dates, the count becomes 8. However, my travel agent is insisting that the 7 days are counted "after" the day you arrive in Hong Kong.

Could anyone please clarify whether the above mentioned itinerary would be acceptable or not?

Thanks a lot!
Waleed.

Mr.Waleed Nasir, as I know, the stay duration is counted from the date you arrival in Hong Kong, you are right, it is 8 days stay in total in Hk.

Thanks a lot Johnnash,

Do you think I can apply for an extension? Will the procedure be straight forward or involved? And what would it be?

I've made all the travel arrangements according to the above mentioned itinerary, and it will be a pain to start again.

I really appreciate your help.

Mr.Waleed Nasir, please don't worry, you don't need to apply for Hk visa again, when you go to Hong Kong, you can go to the Immigration Department to apply for extension of your visa. I guess that overstay 1 day is not a big problem, you can explain it to the immigration officer when you exit HK, please cooperate with the officer, maybe he won't fine you and let you exit.

Thanks a lot Charles.

But I am looking for a more definitive answer. I'd rather apply for an extension before taking off instead of meddling with the immigration office.

I've been sending queries at the immigration email given on the website, but no one has responded yet.

Sorry, sir, your visa can not be extended before your entry to HK. No way unless you are patient to apply for a new longer one. As what the above guys said, you may shorten your trip to 7 days or you just can overstay one day there.
