About:Soft Sleeper

My wife and I would like to travel to the Nujiang Valley in late August, commencing in Liuku and going via Fugong, Gongshan and Bingzhongluo. What is the best way to do this, by bus or is it better to hire a car and driver. How much per day for a suitable car and driver. Could I hire a car in Liuku? Would I be better to hire a car one way and bus the other.

Also, I would like to travel from Liuku to Shaxi via Lanping, Madengxiang and Yangcenxiang. Is this the most scenic route to get to Shaxi from Liuku and is it best to do this by car. How long would it take. Any other suggestions, better routes, sights ????

I think you'd better hire a car with driver. The public transportation in this region is not so helpful.

You can go hire a car to finish your trip, it would cost around CNY500-600 to hire a car for a day. Car renting is available at Liuku, which is now a city beside Nujiang. There aren't many people travel there, some of them chose to start their trip from Jianchuan, you'd better rent a car as well, it can make your trip easier. It might take 4-5 hours from Liuku to Shaxi or Jiangchuan. The scenery is worth seeing there in Shaxi.

Thanks Mr Sebastian and Mr Hank for the advice. Do you have any contacts in Liuku for car and driver hire. Will I have trouble finding people who speak English in Liuku?

Sorry I don't have that, you can rent a car the time you arrive at there, it is easy to find one, you can bargain with them on the spot.
