About:China Train

For overnight trains from Gangzhou to Xi'an and from Xi'an to Beijing... is it possible to purchase the tickets the day of the journey? Also, are these trains safe for single females traveling alone? Thanks!

Hi Leslie,

As far as my experience, there is a little chance to purchase hard or soft sleeper tickets on the day of the journey. If you are lucky, there a few people sell their train tickets at railway station at a terrible high price, one or two times as high as the ticket value.

ok so it is best to buy the tickets ahead of time? and when i print out the ticket receipts, i can use them as tickets, or do i need to bring the print outs to the ticket counter and exchange them for real tickets?
