About:China Train

When looking up the train numbers, it shows K738/K735(example). Why are there two numbers?

Two train numbers are used for a same train. The train numbers are altered according to train's driving direction. For example,there are two train numbers 1408/1405 used for a train from Tonghua to Qingdao. The train number 1408 will be used from Tonghua to Tianjing and the train number 1405 will be used from Tianjing to Qingdao.
