As I know, for work permit application, the bank statements is not required, you come to China for work to earn money, you don't need to provide the bank statement to prove that you can burden the expense for travelling.

Only the below documents are required:
1. application form
2. your passport photos
3. business license of your employer
4. the work contract
5. the copy of your passport
