About:China Transit Visa

I am french and will be flying from Bangkok to Paris, transiting through Pudong airport for less than 24hours. I use 2 different airline companies (Shanghai airlines and Air France) so I need to get my luggage and register them again.
Do I need a transit visa and what is the procedure at the arrival in Pudong?
Thanks a lot for your help

You don't need a transit visa, France passport holders are exempt from a visa to Shanghai for up to 48 hours for transit (going out of the airport is allowed)

Thanks for your answer, but I heard that for french citizens the immigration is more strict since June.
How can I be sure that Shanghai Airlines wil allow me to take my flight from Bangkok to Shanghai without any visa?
Moreover, if I want to apply for a transit visa in Bangkok (just in case :-)), what would be the required documents and the processing time? Thanks

Mrs.Aurelie, according to the visa regulations, you don't need a transit visa, however, to be safety, you can call the Shanghai Airlines to check it.

if you apply for a China Transit Visa in Bangkok, the required documents are:
1. your passport
2. one passport photo
3. one completed visa application form
4. the flight tickets from Bangkok to Shanghai and Shanghai to Paris.

It takes 4 working days for visa processing.
