About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

hello, my husband and myself would like to visit China for 2 weeks in December as part of our world trip. We leave the Netherlands on 14 august so we cannot apply for a visum here. We will be in Japan for 1 week before going to China. We have flight arrangements. Can we apply for a visum in Tokyo? and do we need a letter of invitation from a chinese citizen for a tourist visum? we do not know anybody in China. thank you in advance.

Mrs.Alkema, I think that you can apply for a China Tourist Visa in Tokyo, you don't need a letter of invitation letter from a Chinese citizen. Sometimes, the China embassy in Tokyo will ask applicants other than Japanese to provide the alien registration card valid for 6 months, I know you don't have it, if you are in the situation, please make an explaination to the visa officer, you leave the Netherlands on 14 August, you can't apply for China visa in August because the China single-entry visa is only valid for 3 months. Good Luck!
