About:Chinese Embassy in South Korea

Hi, I have only 1 month left on my alien registration card, but I am hoping to leave Korea without the intention of returning on the same day that my card expires. Will it be possible to get a visa if I am leaving Korea for good?

Ms.Suzanne, you can have a try to apply for China visa at the Consulate General of China in Busan which has not applied the new rule. The China embassy in Seoul asks applicants other than Korean to provide an Alien Registration Card valid for at least 6 months.

Once you get the China visa, you can visit China then return to canada directly, you don't need to come back to South Korea.
