About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

My husband and I will be flying from China to the US in August. We are adopting a child who will be a Chinese passport holder. One of the flights we are looking at on the way home is through Manilla. It has a 13 hours layover which would require a hotel. Do we need a transit visa as US passport holders? What about our son as a Chinese passport holder? Will this route home be a problem?

Mrs.Hood, your husband and you don't need a visa for the 13 hours layover in Manila, however, your son as a Chinese passport holder needs a Filipino transit visa.
