besides kunming world horticulture expo, what other place in kunming that has lots of flowers to see in november?  I have half day (1pm - 9pm) in kunming on 7/11/10.We are not keen to visit temples....but we love beautiful scenary!!We are not sure to visit shilin or not tho we know it is recommended.  Its just that from pictures seen, its mostly rocks and we are not so keen on rocks!!!We are spending 6 days in Lijiang in Nov. We planning to visit Jade Dragon Mountain and Impression Lijiang - l day trip.What other places we should not miss in Lijiang???We have thought of Shangri-la but from photos, don't have any flowers and was told its very cold so we thought of cancelling visit to Shangri-la.Appreciate your advise.

It is not suggested that you visit Shilin which is located a little far from Kunming City. Well, you could visit the Aosidi Lianmeng Shangyi Flower Market (奥斯迪联盟尚义花市) which is one of the largest flower markets in Kunming, and close to Kunming Airport. As for Lijiang, first of all, to go around the ancient town and have a rest at a local cafe. Then, you could go to visit the nearby Shuhe Town. If the days are sunny, exploration to the Tiger Jumping Gorge is recommended.
