About:Chinese Embassy in U.K.

Hi have a signle entry visa to China.
I will arrive in Shanghai, then fly to Guangzhou via Honk Kong (connection only, no airport exit). Do I need a double entry visa?
Thanks a lot in advance.

You don't need a double-entry visa, you only enter Mainland China once (Shanghai and Guangzhou are both within Mainland China), UK citizens are exempt from a visa to Hong Kong for up to 180 days, so you don't need a visa to Hong Kong.

sorry for my previous reply, I mistake your flight schedule, now I know that your schedule is Shanghai-Hong Kong-Guangzhou, you enter Mainland China twice, you need a double-entry visa, China will put an exit stamp on your passport for you flight from Shanghai to Hong Kong, an enter stamp will also be put for your flight from Hong Kong to Guangzhou.
