About:Chinese Embassy in U.K.

Hi,
I have just finished my language course in Guangzhou and my residence permit expires in september, I would like to stay in china till christmas to travel and visit family members. I have been told I can only apply for a 1 month L visa with at the most another 1 month extension. I know i will need to re-enter china via HK. Is there any other way I can stay in China till December?

Also since I have a residence permit can i exit and enter china again? i.e. go to HK for a few days and then come back to Guangzhou.

Thank you for your help!

Many thanks for your reply . So technically when I board my flight from SHA to HKG, China will not put an exit Stamp on my passport, if I can prove I have a connecting HKG to Guangzhou flight? I am an airline employee, travelling standby, so I will have no onward boarding card, but I could prove it with the ticket and a reservation I guess. Tks again .

Mr.Chan, You can exit and enter China again during the validity of your residence permit, once it expires, you can't use it to exit or enter China.

You can apply for a 1 month L visa at the Exit & Enter Department under Guangzhou Public Security Bureau 1 week before the expiration of your residence permit. Then apply for extension of another 1 month, then go to Hong Kong to apply for a new L visa to enter China.
