I have been to Hangzhou many times before but have never been to the Xiaoshan International Airport.

If you arrived in the noon time, there are plenty of ways you can go. Taxi is expensive.

The most economic way is to take the shuttle bus which you can ask around in the airport to the Railway Station in Hangzhou city centre and then either take a slow train or fast train. People called it bullet train which I doubt it. Takes only
hour or hour and a half. I have taken this train several times before taking all my visitors to Shanghai from several countries.

Tickets are easily available but sometimes the queue can be long, but nevertheless you get it. Don't be intimidated by the
length of the queue.

If you arrived at night, then you have to take the bus provided
by Air Asia to arrive at Wanpu at the north east side of Shanghai early in the morning, Wait around and you will be OK.

The subway system is pretty good in Shanghai.
