Karam from Malaysia.
I arrived at Xiaoshan Airport late at night by AirAsia. Like most
passengers, they posted some questions like, can I stay in the airport
till morning.
One lady asked the same question, when she said she will be arriving
from Guilin at 1:30 am wee hour in the morning.
One respondent said she can.
Then another respondent said in another response, the airport will be closed late night.
I have been staying in most airports before, mostly in the US, HK, Manila, S'pore
KLIA, Narita you name it. There is one Japanese who stayed in Mexico City
Airport for almost a year and he is being liked by most of the people there in the
airport so much so that he is like a permanent fixture in the place. People
giving him free food.
Most airports in China have the kind of eerie feeling at night including
notably Pudong supposedly the busiest except may be Heathrow. One thousand
departures/arrivals per day in 2008. The friendliest airport is Dalian in my
opinion.
Now who is right for sure, can I or can I not stay say from 1:00 am to 7:00 am
for sure, from passengers standpoint. You can never ask from the officials,
even in western airports. Officially it is a BIG NO NO.
Can anyone have this experience. I like to stay overnight just to observe as
a passenger on a tight shoe-string budget trying to cover as many cities as possible.
RMB 10 is a lot to me.
Will be very happy if someone can tell me for sure.
