can i know where is the best place city center of Shanghai to stay and to be near to shops food etc

Of course find a hotel along the Nanjing Road, especially around the People's Square. Actually, Nanjing Road is the top one street for shopping. However, most locals prefer to shop in Huaihai Road, which is in the walking-distance from the People's Square. On the other hand, you could reach Chenghuang Temple easily from this square, where you could find the local snacks as much as possible.
