hi dear,
I am a malaysian with a Japan permanant residence status, do I need a visa to visit China?

yes, you need a visa to visit China, Japan ordinary passport holders are exempt from a visa to Mainland China for less than 15 days, but Malaysia ordinary passport holders need a visa to China.
