About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

Hi, I am planning to visit China coming February. I will fly from Singapore to ShenZhen first and travel to other places. Then i am planning to go HongKong for 2 days and back to ShenZhen for my flight to come back Singapore.

I was told that i can apply a multiple entry visa but as this is my first time to go China, someone mentioned that the embassy might not give a multiple entry visa for firstcomer ? May i know if that is true ?

Thanks
