About:Chinese Embassy in U.K.

Hi, I am UK resident, but my nationality is Iranian.
Can I travel to Hong Kong with my British ID card? or I require visa?
If I require visa, how to obtain?

yes, you need a visa to Hong Kong, you can apply for Hong Kong visa from China embassy/consulate in UK. It is not hard for you to get the HK Visa because you have the British ID card.
