Thanks for the prompt reply Ms Mia.We have already sent passport copies to a Travel Agent at Kathmandu. We intend visiting Kathmandu first and then go to Lhasa by coach, and return from Lhasa to Kathmandu by Air China flight.Is it necessary to apply for Chinese Visa, in addition to Tibet Travel Permit.?

yes, you need to apply for China visa in addition to Tibet Travel Permit. It is advisable to apply for China visa in Sri Lanka, when you apply for China visa in sri Lanka, please don't mention that you will visit Lhasa, Tibet. You can get the tibet entry permit in Kathmandu.
