I'm traveling from Jakarta to Shanghai this mid of July. And I’d like to see Beijing as well. From Beijing, I want to take a flight to Hong Kong first before go back to Jakarta, please advice.... thanks

And there are several direct flights daily on both the Beijing-Hong Kong and Hong Kong-Jakarta route. From Shanghai to Beijing, you can take a train, such as D302 which costs about 10 hrs.
