About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

I am from the U.S. and I am in a study abroad program with my university and so I am living/studying in Rome, Italy right now and will be going to China in mid-July. Unfortunately, while on a subway (metro) in Milan, I was pick-pocketed and my wallet with passport (including Chinese visa) was stolen. Is it possible to get a replacement visa for a reduced price or is my only option to apply for a new visa and pay the full amount? I have a copy of my original visa as proof that I had indeed purchased and received a Chinese visa.

Report the loss first, maybe you can find back before your departure to China. Or I'm afraid that you have to apply a new one.
