About:Chinese Embassy in South Korea

Hi, I am currently living in South Korea and my Visa expires in August and I am planning on going back to South Africa through China. I wanted to spend 10 days in China but I have noticed people talking about the ARC being valid for 6 months to go to China. Does this apply to South African and Canadians too? My ticket is booked and payed for and would appreciate some more information on this topic.

Thank you
