About:Chinese Consulate in Calgary

I and my family all hold Canadian passports and plan to travel to China as a side trip from our visit to Hong Kong this December. We live in Edmonton and will have to apply for visas through the Chinese consulate in Calgary. We are considering the 6-month multiple-entry option, although really would only be doing the travel during December. As I'll be in Calgary in August, I'm thinking of taking the opportunity to submit our applications to the consulate at that time. Will the consulate accept applications this early, for travel in Dec? Would they cancel the visa if it wasn't used within 1 month of issue?

Mr.Leung, generally speaking, the single-entry tourist visa is valid for 3 months, you can enter China during its validity. they won't cancel the visa if it is not used within 1 month, however, it is early for you to apply for China visa in August if you go to China in December, if you get a 6 months multiple-entry visa, it is Ok for you to use the visa to enter China in December, but if you get a 3 months single-entry visa, the visa expires before December, you can't use it to enter China, you'd better apply for China visa in October or early November.
