You have to accompany with a group, Sri Lanla passport holders can't apply for individual tourist visa.

I also have the same question. My self & wife need to go to Beijing in end of August and we applied for tourist visa few days ago but it as rejected. What the embassy says is to join minimum 5 passengers together and apply through a travel agent.Remember all passengers need to be out and in bound together.

I have already purchased tickets online for Beijing to depart on 22nd Aug & to return on 29th Aug.Therefore, if you interest we can make a group of 6 passengers and apply for a group visa.We need to pay a small agency fee for a travel agent. It's worth.

You have to prepare following-
Return air ticket,3 months bank details,Hotel reservation details(this can be done through internet with or without giving credit card details),your travel itinerary( like Great wall hiking tour,Ming Toomb tour, etc)
