Please tell me how many types of invitation letters are there? any non chinese can invite us to china or can't?if we just want to visit China without contacting a tourism company, do we still need a invitation letter?can we get visa withot invitaion letter? just for visiting china across border by land ways?

you can't get a China visa if you don't have invitation letter, for family visiting, the Invitation letter from your relative you want to visit, for business purpose, Original Visa Notice Sheet from an authorized governmental apparatus /organization inChina prescribing the visa validity, number of entries and stay period and the Invitation letter from the company/organization/institution you want to visit in China are required
