About:China Tourist Visa

The visa application asks for the name of an, "invitor, contact or relative in China," and the cities you plan to visit? Who can one list as a invitor if one is traveling independently? Is it a problem if one changes their plans with regard to what cities they visit?

You can write N/A for the items which are not suitable for you on the application form, you can change your plan listed on the visa application form, once you get a China visa to enter Mainland China, you can visit the cities according to your own plan
