About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

Hello, I am a Filipino currently in Japan with an Engineer visa. I am planning to have a vacation in Hong Kong. I think Filipinos coming from the Philippines going to Hong Kong do not need any visa. Is it the same if I will be coming from Japan? Otherwise, what should I prepare? Thanks!

Mr.Duece, for Filipine passport holders in japan, you may try to make your trip as transition in Hong kong. If you wish to visit or transit the HKSAR but does not enjoy the visa waiver concession; or if you wish to stay beyond the entitled visa free period, you must obtain a visa/entry permit before coming.

Thank you for the reply Mr. Alvin. Actually, I just plan to stay in Hong Kong for 7 days. I believe the maximum length of stay is 14 days for Philippine passport holders. Does that mean I do not have to apply for a visa?

yes, but you need to submit your Japan visa and a ticket from hongkong to japan. That means you will come back to Japan. And the maximum stay in Hong Kong is 7 days.
