i would reach Taoyuan International Airport on the first day afternoon and proceed to Sun Moon Lake on the same day. what is the faster way to reach Sun Moon Lake by taking public transport? how much time does it need ?

You can go to Taichung by train first and then go to the Sun and Moon Lake by bus. It is the fastest way.

When you arrive at Taoyuan Airport, please go to take the bus 1819 to its terminal at Terminal A of Taipei Train Station. The bus is in operation from 05:40 to 00:30 every 15 minutes. It will take you about one hour and NT$125.

Then, please walk to Terminal B of the train station where you take the bus 1833 to Sun Moon Lake directly. This bus is operated by the KUO-KUANG motor transport and the last one will leave at 17:00 everyday. It will take you 4 hours and NT$460.
