About:Victoria Harbour

I'm visiting Hong Kong next week. One of the days when I'm in HK seems to coincide with the HK SAR day on first of July.

Apart from the street marches going on from Victoria Peak down Causeway Bay to Admiralty area, are there other places also affected by street protests and demonstrations?

I read in another forum that there was a fireworks show on 2007 on this day as well. Is this a yearly activity or was 2007 a one-off event to mark the 10th anniversary of HK as a PRC SAR?

Could I find out if there are also fireworks display on 1st July this year?

Thank you very much in advance!

Hi,there
As I know, one of the must celebration activities is the flag-rising at Golden Bauhinia Square every year. 2007 is the 10th anniversary, hence with fireworks. I don't think there will be fireworks this year. Anyway, it will be a great time.

I watched a videoclip of the ceremony on youtube.
Can the general public/tourists attend the flag-rising ceremony at the Golden Bauhinia Square on the 1st July?
