I understand your situation, you can have a try to apply for the China F visa in Milan, please prepare the below documents:
1. One completely filled out visa application form. No item should be blank .

2. One recently taken 2X2 inch photo showing entire face and without a hat on. Please affix the photo to the application form.

3. Original passport with at least 2 blank visa pages and valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of application.

4. the invitation letter from the host institute

5. copy of your italian residence permit

6. the flight ticket from italy to China, from China to Pakistan which can prove that you will leave China on time.

i going to milan tomorrow with a hope ,its do or die situation for me .
i have also took some supporting document from university of genova ,in which it is written that university of genova is sending me to china and after that i dont have to return Italy.
lets see,what they are going do with me tomorrow:)

just to infrom you guys yesterday i went to chinese embassy, they accepted my papers for visa after very healthy conversation.after all i successed but they asked me to wite statment that * i am not going to return italy again n i wrote it because i dont have other option at that time .
i didnt know what mean by that statenment.
