About:China Tourist Visa

I and my wife are USA passport holders that have retired in the Philippines. We booked a flight to Beijing in October 2010 and visit for 4 days. I understand there is a Chinese embassy in Laoag which is closer to us than Manila. I tried calling them to no avail.Question: Do we need a tourist visa? How much? What are the office hours of your Laoag branch? If the single entry costs the same as multiple entry, what's the advantage/disadvantage of applying for either one?

Yes, you need a tourist visa to China, the fee is 5,500 pesos for USA paspsort holders, the office hours for visa application of consulate in Laoag is 09:00-12:00. The visa fee is same for USA citizens no matter how many entry visa you apply for. If you can get a multiple entry, you can go to China for many times during its validity, you can go to China once if you get a single-entry visa.
